A Note from Ms. Lewis
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Scott County High School!
Just a bit about me. I did my Undergraduate and Masters degrees at the University of Kentucky and completed my student teaching in Sweden (I know, I am still pinching myself!).
In between my undergraduate and masters, I worked in a law firm before deciding to become a teacher. I have also had the opportunity to travel to many of the places I have learned about and about which I teach.
I say this to tell you that I do my best to fuse these real life opportunities I have had into the classroom and hopefully poise my students to go out and seize similar opportunities. It is vitally important to me that students see how social studies relates to their real lives.
My hope for this class is simple; I want all students to leave with a better understanding of what it means to be a citizen and how they fit into the world and the story of humanity.
If you only get one thing from I hope it is this: we are in this together. I am on your side and I have high hopes for the coming year. I look forward to our time in class and please, never hesitate to contact me.
